February 6, 2015 – RVFD and MCFRS units were dispatched at 8:42p for a reported house fire in the area of Prairie Landing Way and Devereaux Terr. While units were responding, Montgomery County Communications advised the corrected address was on Prairie Landing Ct. and since they had multiple calls, they were sending the rapid intervention assignment. Fire Damages Church Offices

January 10, 2015 – RVFD and MCFRS units were alerted at 8:05a for reported smoke in a building adjacent to St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church on Montrose Rd. First arriving units found fire showing from the attic area of a church office building next to the main church. E723’s crew attacked the fire from the inside and were later assisted by other units. Multiple Fire Calls

December 4, 2014 – With the cold weather, there is a rise in the number of fire calls to which RVFD responds. The past couple of weeks have been no different. Multiple Collisions

Over the past week, RVFD units were dispatched on three serious collisions. Both fire/rescue and EMS crews met the different challenges of each incident. November 5, 2014 – RVFD and MCFRS units responded at 5:22p for reported overturned vehicle on I–270 north of the Muddy Branch Rd. overpass. October 2, 2014 – The ebola outbreak in West Africa has received a great deal of attention in the news media recently. On September 30, 2015, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported the first patient in the US to be identified with the disease. The patient had traveled from West Africa to visit relatives in the Dallas, TX area. Ebola, while very deadly, is difficult to transmit to others. Fatal House Fire

September 4, 2014 – MCFRS and RVFD units were dispatched at 4:35a for a reported house fire on Iris St. in Rockville. First arriving units from Kensington VFD reported smoke showing from a single family home. Chief 705 assumed command and MoCo Communications dispatched the Rapid Intervention Group. RVFD Installs Station AEDs

August 2, 2014 – Rockville VFD is proud to announce we have purchased and installed automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in three RVFD stations, Station 3 on Hungerford Dr., Station 23 on Rollins Ave. and Station 33 on Falls Rd. The AEDs are designed for public access use in the event of a cardiac arrest. The American Heart Association (AHA) statistics show that rapid CPR and AED use for sudden cardiac arrest can save lives. July 31, 2014 – RVFD and MCFRS units were dispatched at 11:42p to a reported apartment fire on Burnside Dr. in Rockville. While units were responding, MoCo Communications advised they had received several calls indicating a working fire and they were sending the rapid intervention dispatch.
