I-270 Bus Fire

April 30, 2014 – RVFD units from Stations 23 and 33 were dispatched to a reported bus fire on southbound Interstate 270 near the split to the I-270 spur. Arriving units found a school bus with the engine compartment fully involved in flames. Crews quickly extinguished the fire using a water/foam combination. April 24, 2014 – RVFD and MCFRS units were dispatched at 10:39p for a reported house fire on Rollinmead Dr. in N. Potomac. First arriving units found a large single family home with heavy fire showing from the roof. The rapid intervention dispatch had already been sent by Montgomery County Fire Communications, indicating a working fire. Shortly after arrival, command requested a second alarm. April 12, 2014 – Opening day for the Rockville Baseball Association saw the RVFD sponsored team face the Snap-On Tools team at Monument Park.
