Heavy Fire In Twinbrook - February 26, 2007 - At 2106 hours, Engine 31, Engine 231, Engine 331, Truck 3, Aerial Tower 23, Rescue Squad 3, Ambulance 38, and other Montgomery County Fire & Rescue units were dispatched to the 1400 block of Veirs Mill Road, box area 03-01 for the house on fire with people trapped. Company 3 arrived on scene to find a one story single family home with heavy fire showing from sides "A, B, & C." The Rapid Intervention Dispatch and a Task Force were added, bringing Medic 39, Air 33, and other MCFRS units. Upon size-up, Company 3 units were advised by a neighbor that the home was for rent and unoccupied at the time. Engine 33 pulled a 300' 2" attackline to the front door and entered the structure with Truck 3 and Rescue Squad 3. Rescue Squad 3 began a search of the house while Truck 3 and Engine 33 attacked the fire. Fire was found in all rooms on the first floor and in the attic. Truck 3 opened up the ceilings in each room as the fire was knocked, allowing Engine 33 to attack the fire in the attic. After an aggressive attack the fire was knocked and units remained on the scene for considerable overhaul. A second Task Force was requested to fill staging, however none of the units were utilized.
