November 29, 2013 – RVFD Deputy Chief Jim Vagonis, along with his son Firefighter Candidate Justin Vagonis, came to the rescue of the International Silver Sticks Ice Hockey Tournament. Due to a water main break on Southlawn La., the Rockville Ice Arena had no water and the tournament was in danger of being cancelled. D/C Vagonis brought RE703B to the arena to provide water for maintaining the ice during the tournament, saving the day for young hockey players and their families, many of whom traveled long distances to attend the tournament.
