RVFD Station 23 Celebrates 50 Years of Service

RVFD members, MCFRS career firefighters and retired firefighters gathered on November 6, 2013 to celebrate RVFD Station 23’s 50th anniversary. The station, at 121 Rollins Ave., began operation in 1963 when Rockville was a much different place. Originally housing an engine and ambulance, RVFD added an aerial tower in 1968. Today, the station houses a paramedic engine, an aerial tower, an ALS ambulance and a BLS ambulance. The station responds to almost 9,000 calls for service annually.
