RVFD Training Day

January 4, 2020 – RVFD members took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather to conduct hose evolution, master stream and pumper operator training. Three candidate pumper operators were evaluated to become qualified emergency engine driver operators during the all-day session held at the Montgomery County Public Service Training Academy. Evolutions included hooking up and pumping “heavy water”, fire department terminology for flowing high volumes of water from a single hydrant using a single pumper or two pumpers. Flows included multiple hand lines and the aerial tower master stream using RVFD’s new Aerialscope, AT703.
