Saturday Afternoon House Fire

December 21, 2013 – RVFD and MCFRS units responded to a reported house fire on Baylor Ave. at 12:30p. While responding, communications advised they were starting the Rapid Intervention Dispatch indicating a likely working fire. First arriving units found a two-story single family home with smoke showing. Station 3 units entered through the front door and found fire and smoke in two areas on the first floor. Neighbors reported someone may still be in the house. RS703 crew conducted a primary search but no one was found. Units attacked the fire and brought it rapidly under control. Command assigned other responding units to check for fire extension in the second floor and to ventilate the structure. The fire was contained to the rooms of origin but the home suffered sever smoke damage. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
